Exim Bank embarks on robust expansion drive

Exim Bank, Tanzania’s sixth largest bank is set to open five more branches in Shinyanga, Tabora, Arusha and Dar es Salaam bringing the bank’s branch network to 30 before the end of the year, the firm’s Managing Director, Anthony Grant, has revealed.

Speaking during the inauguration of the Exim Kilimanjaro Branch in Moshi on Monday, Mr Grant said his bank is embarking on aggressive expansion plan that seeks to ensure that the bank’s footprint reaches areas where no other financial institution has dared to go.

“Implementation of our expansion plan is now in full swing. We are set to open five more new branches this year in a bid to take our services closure to the people. 

“Exim Bank’s mission is to ensure that more Tanzanians get access to financial services.

We hope to open more branches in Shinyanga, Tabora, Arusha and Dar es Salaam before the closure of the year,” Mr Grant said. 

Mr Grant noted that in spite of the bank’s investment in the development of the country’s micro and macro economy it will not give up in its efforts to ensuring the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

“We have a positive outlook on Tanzania’s development and we will continue to partner with the government in its development agenda where possible, as we strive to open up other areas of the country for increased economic activity and productivity,” Mr Grant added.

The Exim Bank (Kilimanjaro) Branch Manager, Paul Mbanga, during the event noted that his bank is committed to making a meaningful contribution in developing of an effective, efficient and sustainable financial sector.
