Industrial development strategy in Tanzania is paying off with improved production capacity, increased foreign exchange earnings and employment opportunities.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Abdallah Kigoda (pictured), said this in Dar es Salaam over the weekend during the unveiling ceremonies of ALAF Ltd’s new logo.
“The importance of industries cannot be over emphasized because it has played a vital role in achieving high levels of development and the speedy economic development of emerging economies of East Asian countries including Brazil,” he said.
He pointed out that ALAF has employed over 500 people and it contributes in foreign exchange earnings of the country.
“I expect that the new logo will not only improve your image but also act as a symbol of improved performance and quality of your products and pave the way for other manufactures to reduce cost of production and prices of products so that even the poor can afford,” noted Dr Kigoda.
The Minister pointed out that the government was about to launch the Liganga Matitu iron project and Mchuchuma project anticipating to create a platform for basic industrialization in Tanzania before end of the year.
ALAF’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Pankaj Kumar said the new logo signifies the company’s transformation into a modern and vibrant brand whilst preserving the original values.
“ALAF’s new logo incorporates the essence of reaching to new levels of excellence that positions the company in Tanzania and its neighbouring countries as the largest and most trusted manufacturer of world class quality steel roofing and steel pipes, sections and open profiles,” said Mr Kumar
