Inflation up 6.3 per cent in October

Tanzania Inflation Rate
The October inflation has increase slightly by 0.2 percentage point to 6.3 per cent, on the back of poor food and energy data.

The rate increased from the September 6.1 per cent thus reversing the declining rhythm in the last nine months.

Inflation rate averaged 7.71 per cent from 1999 until 2013, reaching an all time high of 19.80 percent in December of 2011 and a record low of 3.40 percent in February of 2003.

In Tanzania, the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) measures the change over time in the cost of a fixed basket of goods and services that are purchased by a representative sample of households.
