Stanbic scoops best investment bank award

EMEA Finance has named Stanbic Bank Tanzania, a member of the Standard Bank Group, the best Investment Bank in Tanzania in its 2013 Africa Banking awards.

EMEA Finance is a leading bimonthly global industry publication that reports on all major financial transactions and activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The publication has also awarded Standard Bank Group, Africa’s largest lender by assets, as the Best Investment Bank for the sixth consecutive year.

Standard Bank also scooped ten other awards that recognise its investment banking capabilities across the 18 African markets in which it operates.

“Standard Bank remains at the forefront of investment banking in Africa thanks to the depth of expertise it can leverage across its extensive geographic footprint on the continent,” said Mr Christopher Moore, Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of EMEA Finance.

“The bank’s consistent leadership and its ability to support its clients in ways that the overwhelming majority of banks operating in Africa are simply unable and unprepared to do, is an impressive competitive advantage.”

Mr Moore adds: “There are several good examples of Standard Bank’s unique capabilities in the submissions sent to us for evaluation.”

The EMEA Finance Awards for 2013 add to Standard Bank’s growing list of international accolades, which saw Standard Bank named Best Investment bank in Africa in the 2013 Euromoney Awards of Excellence, Best Trade bank in sub-Saharan Africa in the 2013 Stanbic Bank Tanzania provides a full spectrum of financial services, with its Corporate and Investment Banking division serving a wide range of requirements for banking, finance, trading, investment, risk management and advisory services.
