Conmen hit Geita Gold Mine

Geita Gold Mine (GGM), owned by AngloGold Ashanti Limited has of late received increased number of innocent men and women who come to the firm after being promised of employment opportunities by conmen.

In response to the situation, GGM has filed a police case. GGM is working closely with authorities to bring into the hand of law individuals who are responsible for these illegal acts, GGM said in a statement.

"GGM adheres to the legal principles related to employment in Tanzania and has a rigorous process that must always be adhered to.

"Announcement for vacant positions are made followed by selection of qualified candidates for interview and an official signed letter of employment is offered to a successful candidate after interview," read the statement in part.
