29 countries to take part in Dar trade fair

Representatives from 29 countries have confirmed to participate in the 37th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF).

In last year’s DITF, only exhibitors from 11 countries took part in it, Tanzania Trade development Authority (Tan-Trade) – the organiser said.

Tan-Trade acting director general Jacqueline Maleko noted that 1,399 local companies would show their products and 317 firms would showcase their goods or services.

The theme of this year’s fair is “Expand your business horizon”. This is aimed at expanding the business horizon and bringing development for industries.

“The exhibition is scheduled to start on June 28 and climax on July 8.

A seminar for participants will be conducted on June 19. And, for first time, we have set up a structure for all Tanzanian commodities. But there will also be a pavilion for the local honey promotion to raise its uses and reduce the government’s burden of importing sugar,” she said.

“After this fair, we will introduce other exhibitions which will be free of charge.”

She called on Tanzanian exhibitors to learn from foreign participants on packaging and bar codes.

DITF entry fees will be 500/- for each child and 2,500/- for an adult.
