
The airline said in statement that it was steadily establishing itself as an airline of choice in the lucrative Dar es Salaam- Mwanza and Dar es Salaam Kilimanjaro routes.
“Fastjet, Africa’s low-cost airline, is delighted to announce that in less than six months of flying, it has become the preferred airline on the key Dar es Salaam to Mwanza route in Tanzania with over 64% of market share.
“Its other main route, Dar es Salaam to Kilimanjaro, is equally successful…it has enjoyed a 30% increase in yields in the past two weeks, the statement reads.
"Since the airline began operations in November 2012, it has carried over 160,000 passengers with 99.7 per cent of flights leaving on time, the statement further reads.
According to the statement, Fastjet’s commitment to stimulating the aviation market in Tanzania remains a key element within its strategy and it continues to offer thousands of $20 fares to the public. Commenting on this encouraging news, Fastjet CEO Ed Winter said:
