Swissport pushes indices up

Swissport price yesterday rose by 1.11per cent from to 910/-, pushing with it the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) indices.

All share index (DSEI) gained 0.04 points to close at 1,314.32 points while Tanzania Stock Index (TSI) gained 0.17 points to close at 1,187.16 points. 

“Foreigners did not participate in today’s trading session,” Tanzania Securities Business Analyst, Joe Nkya said. 

Despite the indices to go north, the bourse turnover decreased by 70.00 per cent compare to the previous session after recording of 15.60m/- compare to 45.38m/- in the previous session.

The manufacturers continued to dominate the market with a total turnover of 11.32m/- which is equivalent to 72.60 per cent of the total turnover. Simba Cement was the market top trader recording a turnover of 8.33 million or 53.41 per cent of total turnover followed by TBL and   Swissport with turnovers of 2.68m/- and 1.64m/- respectively. 

Other counters that recorded activity with their respective turnover in brackets were, CRDB ( 1.53m/-), NMB (1.11m/-) and TCC ( 0.31m/-)
