Precision Air scoops Africa Award

Precision Air Services (PW) has won the African airline of the year 2011/12 bronze award behind Ethiopia and Kenyan airlines.

“We are honoured to have been recognised by our peers and customers…coming third in Africa is no mean achievement,” said the PW Chief Executive Officer Mr Alfonse Kioko.

The African Airline of the Year 2011/2012 Award has been organized by African Aviation News portal.

Mr Kioko reassured the airline customers that it is forging forward with the expansion plans as well as ensuring that it delivers services beyond customer expectations.

Precision is listed at Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange. It share yesterday close the bourse trading at 480/-


In the competitions where 25 airlines took part, votes were cast in by the readers and followers of African Aviation’s website as well as in various industry meetings and congress events attended by officials. A total of 20,000 votes were registered.

The votes made by its readership composed of aviation professionals and well-seasoned travelers, based on the airline companies’ growth, overall service, reputation and reliability, stated the aviation website statement.

The award is not just a measure of the airliners’ worth but stands for the valuable recognition from their satisfied clientele in all sectors of air travel industry, the statement from the Aviation website said.

Some of the airlines which took part in the competitions included, Air Algerie, Air Botswana, Air Malawi, Air Namibia, Air Nigeria, Air Uganda, Arik Air, Asky Airlines, Camair-Co, Comair South Africa, Dana Air, and Egyptair.

Others are Ethiopian Airlines, Fly540, Kenya Airways, Mozambique Airlines, Precision Air, Royal Air Maroc, Rwandair, Senegal Airlines, South African Airways, Sudan Air, TAAG Angola, TACV and Zambezi Airlines.

African Aviation, through its dedicated readers and followers, recognizes top industry organizations which have manifested excellent customer service, skills, ingenuity, creativity and success in the continent flourishing tourism industry.

Some of the awards that PAS has in recent years received included, the Best Scheduled Domestic Airline for 2011 by Tanzania Society of Travel Agents (TASOTA), Best Scheduled Domestic Airline 2011, and Regional Airline of the Year by African Airlines Association (AFRAA) 2010.
