Chai Bora stock gained by 3.64% in single session

Tanzania Tea Packers (TaTePa) stock yesterday gained 3.64 per cent the highest surge in a single day since the beginning of this year.

TaTePa, one of the biggest tea blenders in the country, share price increased from 275/- to 285/- pushing upward the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange indices. 

All share Index (DSEI) gained 0.69 points to close at 1,298.97 points while TSI gained 2.89 points to close at 1,122,21 points.

In the yesterday session a total of 23,353 shares were traded recording a turnover of 12.82m/-.

“Manufacturers continued to dominate the market with a turnover accounting to 73.52 per cent,” Tanzania Securities Business Analyst Joel Nkya said on the firm's daily report.

Chai Bora became part of the Trans Century Group in 2008 when it was acquired from the TaTePa Group. Chai Bora was started in 1994 as a subsidiary of TaTePa and fully incorporated in 2006 as an independent corporate entity.

Chai Bora has a commanding presence in Tanzania with its factory located in Mafinga, at the heart of tea growing in Tanzania.
