Vodacom upgrades M-pesa system

VODACOM Tanzania has made major upgrading on its M-Pesa system in order to cope with the pace and growing demand of the service.  Following the upgrading, Vodacom M-Pesa is now experiencing higher quality services with speed while doing transactions.

Vodacom Tanzania Managing Director Mr Rene Meza said in a statement issued in Dar es Salaam over the weekend said that the upgrading and improvement that took place in December last year is per the company’s plan done regularly  to improve customer service.

"It is possible that there were slight challenges that customers were facing in using the M-Pesa service. I am thrilled to see that we are improving the service and we will keep on doing so every time,” said Mr Meza.

He said throughout the end of year season M-Pesa services recorded improved quality with more speed and that the company will continue to come up with new innovations aimed at serving the customers better.

"We always live by our commitment of providing excellent service to our esteemed customers. We will continue to do so regularly in line with giving priority to security together with enhancing our speed of creativity and innovation to our products", he said.

The service introduced by Vodacom in 2008 has helped businesses grow and create employment opportunities. Todate the services has more than nine million subscribers who are able to transact conveniently through using their mobile phones to buy air time, pay taxes, send and receive money as well as  pay bills for utilities.
