Airtel Money now used to buy fuel

AIRTEL Tanzania has launched a new service whereby motorists can use Airtel Money service to refuel their vehicles at several pump stations in Dar es Salaam.

Airtel Public Relations Manager Jackson Mmbando told a news conference on Sunday that through Airtel Money, the company’s innovation meet needs of their clients and the public in general.

The service, he said, was now available at Gapco Sasa Kazi Station - Mtoni Mtongani, Gapco Banana and Gapco Samora Avenue. He said Airtel through Airtel Money service will continue to collaborate with more stakeholders to widen its scope.

Apart from offering the refueling option using Airtel Money, these outlets also provide others services including cash transfer and receiving. GAPCO Sales Manager, Mr Ben Temu said: “The service of paying for fuel through Airtel Money is simple hence we welcome all clients to designated pump stations.” He also commended Airtel for coming up with the service which reflects the firm’s creativity.
