Simba share price falls, affecting indices

Tanga cement (trading as Simba) share price today dropped by slightly by 0.83 per cent 2,380/- to affect indices position negatively.

The indices went down despite Swissport share to appreciate by 10/- to close the day at 860/- a share.

According to Tanzania Securities, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange all share index (DSEI) lost 0.10 points to close at 1,298.24 points while Tanzania Share index (TSI) lost 0.43 points to close at 1,119.15 points.

“(Nevertheless), the market recorded great improvement in turnover compare to the previous session,” Tanzania Securities’ Business Anaylst Joel Nkya said.

 A total of 528,091 shares were traded to record a turnover of 1.061bn/- compare to  109.62m/- on Friday. Twiga was the top trader followed by NMB with turnovers of 1.05bn/- 15.56m/- respectively.

 Bond Trading Update

A ten year T- bond with face value of 5.5bn/- and 11.44 per cent coupon rate was traded at a discounted price of 92/2764. The bond matures on 08/09/21.
