Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) has experienced a decrease in total turnover by 34 per cent to 4.81bn/- last week compared to 7.23bn/- posted on the previous week.
During the week under review, Tanzania Breweries Ltd and SWISSPORT emerged as the top traded equities by 81.31 per cent and 12.86 per cent of the market share respectively.
According to Zan Securities Limited weekly wrap-ups, SWISSPORT emerged as the top gainer within local listed companies with its price appreciating by 20/- or 0.27 per cent to close at 7,320/- per share.
Likewise, Tanzania Breweries Ltd (TBL) and Tanga Cement Company Ltd (TCCL) emerged as the top losers within local listed companies. TBL stock price experienced a 620/- or 4.43 per cent depreciation, closing the week at 13,380/- per share. TCCL stock price experienced a 210/- or 10.10 per cent depreciation, closing the week at 1,870/- per share.
Total market capitalization increased slightly by 0.01 per cent to 21.07tri/-. Domestic market capitalization experienced a decrease by 1.43 per cent closing the week at 8.32tri/-.
Comparatively, key benchmark indices were in both the green and red territory with the Tanzania Share Index (TSI) capped at 3,901.64points, lower by 1.45 per cent compared with 3,959.11 points posted the previous week.
The All Share Index (DSEI) closed at 2,404.09 points, up by 0.01 per cent compared with last week closing at 2,403.92 points.
Similarly, the three sector indices closed the week in both the green and red territory with the Industrial and Allied experienced a decrease, closing at 5,148.33 points up down 3.23 per cent compared to previous week closing at 5,319.99 points.
Banks, Finance and Investment Index experienced an increase by 3.63 per cent to close at 2,643.20 points compared to last weeks closing at 2,550.70 points.
Commercial Services Sector experienced an increase by 0.21per cent to close this week off at 3,940.69 points compared to last weeks closing at 3,932.32 points.
