Bank M Tanzania on Monday marks the eighth anniversary, registering tremendous success from its operations during the period, the firm announced.
The bank’s assets currently stands at 809.09bn/-, which is equivalent to 2,509 per cent growth over the asset level at the end of the first year of the bank.
Bank M’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms Jacqueline Woiso, said to celebrate eight years in the market proved that it was the bank of choice.
“This day in 2007, Bank M Tanzania was born out of a dream of daring to do banking differently in Africa to do banking with the client at the heart of our business model and daring to be not just number one but of becoming the Preferred One,” she said.
Starting out with a single outlet on Nyerere Road, the Bank now has six branches including the Head Office on Obama Drive with plans to increase to 10 by the next year.
Ms Woiso said the bank staff that have made part of the journey right from the beginning was personally satisfying and created a sense of achievement for all of them.
“We have crossed several milestones in this journey of growth. It gives great feeling to be counted on as the Preferred One among a whole lot of competitive established institutions,” she said.
She also pointed out that the Bank is being preferred internationally in the banking sector witnessed by the awards for being the Best Corporate Bank and Best Community Development Bank in East Africa from the Banker Africa.
