The fast growing wedding industry has turned out to be one of the lucrative businesses that generate massive revenues to investors.A quick survey in the wedding industry shows that there is an average of 100 weddings every week in Dar es Salaam costing a minimum of 5m/- each which could generate about 30bn/- annually.
To capitalise on the business opportunity by bringing wedding suppliers and stakeholders of the wedding requirements, Mr Hamis Omary representing a firm known as 361 Degrees, said in Tanzania the Wedding Expo and Show has been an annual event established to meet such demand.
“The sixth Harusi trade Fair will bring various wedding related vendors and suppliers under one roof, a melting and networking point for only the best in the Wedding Industry thus making the wedding fair to be held on Friday and Saturday next week, a Premiere exhibition,” he said.
He added, “By putting the wedding related activities under one roof is relieving from unnecessary stress family members taking active role in preparing the weeding event,”
Amongst the participants in the annual event include vendors of cakes, flowers, photographers, wedding gowns, wedding website designers, owners of wedding halls as well as lots of new and creative innovations concerning the wedding industry.
Mr Omary said the trade fair is expected to attract over 50 wording related companies from across the country, an increase from 42 exhibitors who participated last year.
He said wedding is the union of families and communities, a once in a life time indulgence, thus giving the astute bride and grooms all their requirements they need under one roof is of paramount importance.
Serengeti Breweries Limited, Brand Manager Spirits Mr Shomari Shija said the brewing firm is sponsoring the wedding fair through its Baileys and Gold label reserve products because they are among the most used spirits in wedding events.
