Small, medium and large scale entrepreneurs have been urged to capitalise on the 3rd Tanga International Trade Fair 2015, to showcase their products.
The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) - Tanga Branch Secretary Ms Anna Kigwila said in an interview from Tanga on Wednesday that the previous exhibitions have been a success story thus persuading more exhibitors.
Since it is costing to take part in most international exhibitions within and outside the country, thus she said the Tanga international trade fair offers unique opportunity for small and medium scale entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses and meet their foreign counterparts.
“We expect more exhibitors participate in this year’s trade fair compared to the previous period,” she said, adding that a total of 30 mega local companies and 20 foreign firms are targeted to show up in the trade fair slated for 28th May-6th June this year.
Ms Kigwila said currently the sky is the limit and there are plenty chances for the local small and medium entrepreneurs to register and participate in the trade fair.
Entrepreneurs will be informed when spaces are finished. She said there has been a greater enthusiasm following the success of the first Trade Fair held previously as more companies, both local and foreign have expressed their interest to exhibit their goods in the Trade Fair.
“It is our expectations that the Tanga international trade fair to become a bid occasion, second to the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF),” she said.
The Tanga international trade fair is progressively becoming an excellent one stop trading centre for reaching countries such as Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, for its reliable transport network by road, railway and sea.
The trade fair is gradually becoming a shop window for various exhibits, professional organised marketing and networking with responsive participants while exploring abundant business opportunities/investments in Tanga Region.
It is also an opportunity to network with other foreign participants and businesses at the trade fair making business connections, referrals, and business deals.
