levy per tonne or part thereof transit dry imports destined to Burundi, the DR
Congo, Rwanda and Uganda,” he said here.

TEU and $12 per 40-feet in transit containerised imports destined to these four

The levy will be collected by TPA and later be remitted to TTFA.
The agency’s role is to ensure that the central corridor is
available for exporters and importers for landlocked states of Burundi, Rwanda,
Uganda and DRC Congo as an efficient economic addition to other trade routes.
It also monitors the route performance through proactive
collection, processing and dissemination of transport data in order to support
the planning and operations of the member states.
