Prices of all fuel products have increased by an average of two per
cent from today, the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (Ewura)
announced yesterday.
Petroleum prices have risen by Sh55.14 per litre over previous
indicative prices, while diesel prices have increased by Sh39 per litre.
In Dar es Salaam a litre of petrol will be sold at Sh2,049 while that
of diesel will be sold at Sh1,989.
According to the statement, a litre of kerosene will be sold at
Sh2,026. In Arusha a litre of petrol
will be sold for Sh2,133, that of diesel for Sh2,073 and kerosene for
Sh2,110. The statement said in Mwanza a
litre of petrol will be sold for Sh2,199, diesel for Sh2,139 and kerosene for
Sh2,176.
It said in Mbeya a litre of petrol will be sold at Sh2,156, diesel at
Sh2,096 and kerosene at Sh2,133.
“Oil marketing companies are free to sell their products at a price
that gives them competitive advantage, provided that such price does not exceed
the cap price for the relevant product,” said the statement.
It further said that in Dodoma petrol will be sold for Sh2,108 per
litre, diesel for Sh2,048 and kerosene for Sh2,085 per litre.
In Iringa a litre of petrol, diesel and kerosene will be sold for
Sh2,113, Sh2,053 and Sh2,090 respectively, according to the statement. In the lakeside town of Bukoba petrol, diesel
and kerosene will be sold at Sh2,264, Sh2,204 and Sh2,241 a litre respectively,
the statement added.
