The annual headline inflation ate for the month of June, 2012 has
further declined to 17.4 per cent compared to 18.2 per cent recorded in May, 2012.
The decrease of Headline Inflation Rate for June, 2012 explains that,
the speed of price increase for commodities in June, 2012 has decreased
compared to the speed recorded in May, 2012.
However, the overall index
went up to 130.06 in June, 2012 from 110.79 recorded in June, 2011.
Food and Non alcoholic beverages Inflation Rate has decreased to 23.5 per cent in June, 2012 from 25.3 per cent recorded in May, 2012.
In Kenya inflation slid to 10.5 per cent from12.22 per cent and in Uganda also dropped but slightly from 18.6 to 18 per cent.
