Stock Exchange indices lost some grounds on Tuesday.
DSE all share
index (DSEI) closed at 0.66 points lower to settle at 1,440.67 points while Tanzania
Share Index (TSI) lost 2.81 points to end the day at 1,218.95.
Equity market
turnover recorded a significant drop of 309 per cent to 28.9m/- from 118m/-
posted on Monday.
Similarly,
activity level decreased as shares traded knocked down by 167 per cent to
18,986shares from 50,824shares transacted yesterday. Foreign participation was
on the purchase of 8,099shares on NMB bank counter.
As expected, NMB
counter saw a strongly support by foreign investors that purchased 8,099 shares
among 8,292 shares transacted in today’s session at a price range of between 930/-
and 940/-.
The counter
generated total turnover of 7.8m/-. CRDB traded 1,499shares at 122/50 which recorded
turnover amounting to 0.18m/-.
TPCC 626shares
exchanged hands at 2,420/- per shares. TBL recorded a turnover of 9.4m- on a
volume of 3,770shares transacted at a price range of 2,460,2,480 and 2,500/- per
shares; 3,700 SIMBA shares were traded at 2, 380/- per share. The counter
generated a turnover of 8.8m/-
