Tanzania women go for fuel efficient cars

Fuel efficient small cars are getting popular with women drivers in Tanzania unlike the original notion that colours such as pink, purple and red attract the group most.

In its latest statement on car marketing trends in the country as compared globally, Carmudi Tanzania Limited, said young women in the country Toyota IST, VITZ, PASO and RAV 4 are the most popular models.

“The Nissan Murano, X-trail and Range Rover Evoque are also popular among corporate class women,” said Carmudi’s statement adding that the misconception that women choose their cars depending on colour rapidly changing.

“Today, choice of car colour is perceived as a status symbol and a reflection of achievements. The most preferred car colours are black or white,” the statement noted which named Toyota RAV 4 and IST as most popular brands.

“Women are now more financially independent than ever before, and the availability of financial facilities such as banks and micro-finances means women can purchase their own cars. In fact more often than not, women are the ones choosing cars for their men,’ the statement pointed out.
