Fabtech Technologies International Director, Hemant Anavkar, told the ‘Daily News’ yesterday here that the talks are almost in final stage and what remains is the last nod from Keko Pharmacy before the works starts.
“Actually, we are waiting for Keko management to give us the final nod,” Mr Anavkar said at the firm pavilion at the ongoing International Exhibition for Pharmaceutical and Healthcare (iPhex) 2013 at Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.
The director could not shed more lights on the project details, saying the management of Keko Pharmacy has more details of the entire expansion, including the new capacity and amount to be invested.
The project, if it sails through, will be the second project to be undertaken by Fabtec in recent years, after the 2.8 million Euro Tanzania Pharmaceutical Industry (TPI) in Arusha. Fabtcech supplied turnkey solutions to TPI that is mainly producing ARVs drugs to fight HIV/AIDS under the Germany medical aid.
The firm provided right blend of technologies to TPI. On the other hand, the Fabtec Assistant Manager- International Sales, Mr Najeeb Shukri said once the approval is received, though depending on the expansion nature of various projects, they need between six and 12 months to complete the project.
“There are a lot to be considered as there are issues of engineering, technical and electric parts like any other project…we normally take between six and 12 months,” said Mr Shukri. The firm uses plaswall and plasmolite in erecting pharma-factory wall, which are like hard plastic and stainless walls respectively.
The company based in Mumbai has employed abut 600 people globally and has offices in Lagos, Nigeria, Dubai in UAE and Cairo in Egypt.
