ATCL resumes Mtwara flights

Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) will resume its flights from Dar es Salaam to Mtwara flights on Friday, the airline's Chief Executive Officer, Captain Milton Lazaro, said.

Captain Lazaro said ATCL, known as the "Wings of Kilimanjaro" will be flying to the southern port municipal of Mtwara four times a week using its 50-seater Bombardier Dash 8-300 equipment.

"I am pleased to announce the re-introduction of our Dar es Salaam - Mtwara direct flights which will resume on Friday.

"The resumption of the Dar - Mtwara flights is part of our promise of aggressive expansion drive which will see us extending our wings to destinations not covered at the moment," he said.

Captain Lazaro said ATCL will fly to Mtwara on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, adding that adjustments would be made according to demand.

He also said the airline would charge 250,000/- for a return ticket and 166,000/- for a one way. The tariffs are tax inclusive.

"Passengers can book wherever they are by calling 0782-737-730. We have made it easy for our passengers to make reservations at their convenience by calling the number or report to the nearest agent," he said.

Reintroduction of Mtwara flights comes barely a month after the airline resumed the Kigoma flights after renovation of the Kigoma airport was completed.

"I want to assure our esteemed customers that our services are still the best and we offer very competitive fares to destinations we fly," he said. Captain Lazaro said ATCL has plans to boost its fleet before the end of the year.
