Twiga cement share slides by 5%

Twiga Cement share lost 140/-  to close the session at 2,500/- today [Monday]. Other counters remained flat.The drop, pushed all indices south.

The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange Index (DSEI) closed the session at 1,458.47 (-2.84) points while Tanzania Share Index TSI closed at 1,294.22 (-11.99) points. 

Similarly, turnover dropped from 121m/- of last Friday to 19m/- today. 

However, the quantity of shares traded slightly increased to 88,875 shares from 81,131 shares exchanged hands the previous session. There was no foreign participation in today’s session. 

CRDB closed the session on top with 82,925 shares while Twiga had the least number of shares. Other counters traded today were NMB and TBL with 3,550 and 1,400 shares respectively. 

Meanwhile, two Treasury bonds traded in the secondary market today. A 9.18 per cent Five-Years Bond was traded in one lot of 2bn/- at 82.9474/100 and 11.44 per cent Ten-Years Bond was traded in one lot of 12bn/- at 91.5600/100
