Dar stock indices headed south on Monday

Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) has opened the week on the wrong after s both indices edged down with the DSEI closed at 1,438.84 points(-1.23) while TSI settled by 1,211.21 points(-5.19) on Monday. 

The decrease, according to Tanzania Securities,  was caused by drop of TBL’s and NMB’s share prices. 


NMB lost 10/- to record 930/- per share from 940/- recorded last Friday. TBL lost 20/- to record 2,540/- per share from 2,560/- of last Friday.

Turnover decreased to record 129.4m/- in comparison to 150.6m/- realized last Friday(-16.2%). Volumes increased from 270,245shares to 389,346shares exchanged hand in today’s session(+44 per cent).
