2012/13 BUDGET UPDATE: Govt protects local fruit juices

The government has proposed an introduction of tax on imported juices of 83/- per litre, in order to protect local industries producing fruit juices against unfair competition.

The minister for finance said locally produced fruit juices will attract excise duty of 8/- per litre.
